Meet RJ Torr, ( Raymond J Torr) Born in Michigan in 1963,  I began playing guitar at age 8, and wrote my first song at age 11. 

I served the Navy from 1981 to 1991, and played music all over the world. 

In 1992 I formed The High Country Band, and later that year we opened a show with the legendary, Johnny Paycheck. 

In 1996, my wife Lisa and I moved to Nashville, Tn. I met a producer from Big Wampum Records, Jeff DeBusk, and began singing demos for him and legendary writer Ted Harris (Chrystal Chandelier). 

I then started recording my own album "The Just Can't Help Its", featuring "Marie Laveau", which was an honor to cut with Bobby Bare's blessing! The album was cut utilizing some of the best session players in Nashville, including a guitar player from Loretta Lynn's band, Mr. Bobby Vogel. 

Also, a funny thing happened unexpectedly while recording my album. I was working part time for a limo service and was offered a tribute role as Neil Diamond for the Las Vegas Legends, when I picked them up at the airport! They actually auditioned me on the ride to the hotel! That was very cool, but I had to turn down the offer as I was still recording my own album at the time.

In 1999, some of the players on my album and I were scheduled to go on tour with Travis Tritt as his opening act for a casino tour. Well, Charlie Daniels' actually ended up with the tour...I was bummed and thrilled at the same time! Lol, thus is the nature of the business. 

I then continued driving truck by day, singing demos at night, then was excited to have Eddy Arnold listen to my demo tape, and I learned that he got very emotional over one of my songs called "Daddy's Love", (a song which depicts a father's love for his children, when they have been separated by divorce, and long distance). 

I then spent time in studio with his freind and legendary opry musician, Jim Lance for a few months. 

Tragically, a sickness in the family shortened our stay in Nashville, with my album not quite complete. 

Back in Michigan, and driving truck once more, I self recorded and released 31 songs, which are now streaming world wide. 

Today, I have over 500 regular followers, and over 300 users on TikTok who have created their own videos using my music. That's quite humbling, and quite an honor! My rendition of Marie Laveau is climbing past 70 users on TikTok. This song, as well as Daddy's Love can be found on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and most other outlets. 

Currently, I perform as a solo act, as I promote my album featuring Marie Laveau! I am blessed with entertaining audiences famous country, pop, easy rock, and folk hits. I also perform my own releases, along with tribute songs to Neil Diamond! If you are representing a venue looking for entertainment,  I offer an exciting full band vibe, driven by licensed backing tracks. For equipment, I have my guitars, and small PA system, bringing to your audience an upbeat, professional quality experience! Built on 50 years of entertaining, I also have plenty of merchandise for the fans... tees, CDs, photos, koozies and more! I have played venues, small and large. I enjoyed playing at fairs, festivals, and amphitheaters as well. My equipment should be large enough for 50 to 150 in your audience. Thank you much, I look forward to entertaining your venue!
